Intermediate Telemark Course:

Our most popular level. Many people come back for multiple intermediate lessons working on new skills each time. Skiers are ready to move from the basic telemark turn to the familiar parallel turn. We reinforce body position, weight shifting and edge control.

Goals and Outcomes

The purpose of this description is to help guide a potential participant to the right course. We offer here some outcomes of this level of course so you have an idea what out goals are. When a skier is ready to progress to the next level, they will be able to...

1. Perform moderate speed turns
2. Use an alpine wedge to steer into the fall line
3. Use a telemark style turn at the fall line
4. Use a Telemark turn for the duration of the turn
5. Use the whole leg to maintain skis on edge
6. Use a consistent steering action throughout the turn
7. Maintain an open body to the fall line
8. Proper timing of pole plant
9. Continuous extension and flexion of the body.
