Freeheelers United (FHU) has been offering Telemark ski lessons in the National Capital Region of Ottawa and Gatineau since the 2005/2006 ski season. All FHU instructors are certified by the Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructors (CANSI). The Freeheelers Ski School is the main vehicle for Freeheelers United to achieve its educational mandate by offering Telemark experiences to the alpine enthusiast community in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec.

FHU offers a series of Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced lessons as well as specialized Clinics. These courses aim to safely introduce new people to the sport and allow seasoned enthusiasts to increase their skill level. As well as offering courses to the general public.

Freeheelers United has also been active in offering Professional Development for employees in the outdoor equipment retail and outdoor recreation industries. This type of Profesional Development helps to increase awareness of the sport of Telemark within industries that promote outdoor adventure pursuits and healthy living.

Pilot programs are a way for us to test out new markets and new ways of reaching a broader audience. Currently we are looking for interested partners to offer a TeleYouth program. The goal of this program is to introduce youth between the ages of 16 and 21 to the sport of Telemark Skiing. The focus will be on developing an interest and skills in this exciting sport at a young age.
