Freeheelers United offers courses and clinics to all levels of Telemark skiers Novice Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced telemark skiers. Read more for course descriptions.

Novice:

These courses, offered by request only, are for those that have never been on skis of any kind before. Invite a few friends along and book a course. We will take time to learn how the body reacts to carrying around boards on our feet. Participants will learn how to remain in control and always have an exit to any situation. We will spend time on low angle slopes, and give you the tools needed to navigate the green circles (beginner runs) of the mountain. These courses are run by request, contact us for more info.

Beginners:

These courses are designed for Nordic or Alpine skiers who have never been on Telemark skis. Participants will already feel comfortable with some type of skis on their feet. We will work on controlled descents progressing to a basic telemark technique. Read our full Beginner Course Outcomes description.

Intermediate:

Our most popular level. Many people come back for multiple intermediate lessons working on new skills each time. Skiers are ready to move from the basic telemark turn to the familiar parallel turn. We reinforce body position, weight shifting and edge control. Read our full Intermediate Course Outcomes description.

Advanced:

For those skiers that have spent some time and logged distance on telemark gear and wanting to refine their technique. These courses will focus on the steeps, carving technique and variable conditions. From large carving turns on the corduroy to short radius in the crud and the bumps. We will get your body centred and relaxed, both skis on edge, and open up new terrain opportunities. Read our full Advanced Course Outcomes description.
